We Rescue, Rehabilitate, Advocate, and Educate. All for the Love of Dogs.

Get to know our founder.

Meet Louise, our founder, president, and dog fanatic. As a formally trained artist, Louise hoped to combine her two passions, dogs and art, to ultimately "rebrand" rescue work. "We see pet stores, showcasing puppies with lovely backdrops, perfectly groomed hair, and a high price tag faceted to their playpens. In contrast, we see shelters and rescues, pleading "save a life" with dogs depicted in blurry photographs, often in barren, caged settings. Are either of these projections accurate representations of the animals themselves?" Louise realizes the unreliable nature of perception. This unreliability acts as the framework behind Three Dog Night Rescue's mission, to accurately depict the dogs we know and love, in hopes of saving the babies.

Why Three Dog Night?

The phrase "three dog night" has debated origin, but is universally excepted as describing a night so cold that one would need to snuggle three dogs to survive it. This idiom, emphasizes mankind's mutually beneficial and evolutionary relationship with dogs. Being the first domesticated animal, roughly 15,000 years ago, dogs solidified their position as man's best friend. Also... really great American rock band named Three Dog Night, and Louise's first day of rescue work involved saving three dogs from being given away on Craigslist. One of the rescued trio, George- a golden retriever/ german shepherd mix, is pictured here.
